In The Dark

Last night I had my first lesson in the dark. It was great.

I loved every second of it!

This is a VERY big statement coming from a woman who just 4 months ago was a real car and driving-a-phobe! It took me a few lessons to stop feeling sick and stop shaking.

The last 3 lessons I can see how I am now going from strength to strength and it makes such a difference.

Last night I took a two hour lesson that is normally done on a Pass Plus test! This is an advanced driving test and the part I did is the requirement for night driving. I did a good few miles on a dual carriageway, went through a town centre and came back through villages, twisty turny windy lanes and beings we are in the middle of nowhere at times I had some lovely fog to contend with. I also drove into the next county of Cambridgeshire.  It gave me a good experience and I am so glad I gave it a go.

Upon arriving home my instructor congratulated me on such good driving in the lesson. On the way out I was honest and said I was looking forward to it but a couple of times I had looked forward to lessons I had messed up more than I should have. I also told him that he couldn't see it but this is the first lesson I have been smiling throughout the whole lesson.

I really loved it and the outlook of having a driving license in the future is looking a lot brighter as I am getting more and more confident and enjoying what I do.

Totally unrelated here is my favourite song of the moment. I have it in my head continuously and I wish this local young man lots more popularity in the future. For now, here's what Rupert Grint - Better known as Harry Potters Ron Weasley - is up to these days (besides looking very grown up) :

  1. I absolutely HATE driving, but it was still a good feeling to get my license. The freedom it affords a person is nice, too! I think it is so great that you are doing this, even though you have been nervous (understatement?!) about it.

I cannot believe how grown up Rupert Grint is!! Makes me feel OLD to see him like that. I just watched the first Harry Potter movie with Monkey recently and I still think of him as he is in that movie! haha

Not really my kind of music usually, but I did listen to (and quite like) that song. Glad I pushed play. :)
