June Already

We're already into June.

This week has been a lovely one. It's been half term so the kids are off school but for the majority of the week, the weather has been beautiful. Clear sunny skies, warm but not too warm. It's been wonderful. The kids love the chance to be able to play outside. Living here, Matthew has more freedom than ever. Behind our house is a lane that we use for parking and that the local farmer drives his tractor up every now and then but it's an ideal dirt track for Matthews bike. He's loved being allowed to play out there.

We've also been busy working on the house. Bf has tiled the bathroom, and set down a lot of top soil and grass seed in the back garden. When we moved in the back garden was just nettles and brambles. Now it looks as though we are in sight of having a normal garden. The hard work was trying to get out all the roots and part of the garden is held together by roots so it will be a job and a half to banish those from coming back but we will have to see how that goes covered with seed.

I have also left my mark on the garden with a 4 armed hanging basket stand complete with trailing plants. I know very little about plants but have been reading up on the ones I chose. One likes shade, one likes sun. Luckily the ones that there are more of like the shade and the top end of the garden is more shady than the rest of the garden so the majority of the flowers should survive.

With boys, it's going to be a lifetime of football for them so I think hanging plants would be so much safer than trying to plant some in the ground. I would eventually like a little herb garden in some area too.

Anyway, aren't I overdue a photo entry....
